Warranty Information

Pieroway fly rods are built with the utmost care and attention to detail to ensure that you have many satisfying years of dependable performance and enjoyable fishing experiences. By purchasing a Pieroway Fly Rod, you have placed your trust in our commitment to quality and in appreciation of your investment, we offer a lifetime no-fault warranty. If you step on your rod, close it in the screen door or back over it with the truck, rest assured we will fix it. And if we can’t fix it, we’ll make it right with a new factory-built fly rod of at least equal value. Your investment is assured for a nominal handling charge of $60 CAD. The only thing we cannot warranty however are lost fly rods, lost rod sections and cosmetic wear and tear. We also cannot warranty any modifications to a finished rod that just didn’t work out!

I broke my rod. What do I do?

To request warranty repair, send an email to pierowayrods@gmail.com or call us at 403-969-4363. Our mission is to get you back fly fishing as soon as possible so we have demo rods for you to use while we service your equipment.

To initiate a warranty claim, please forward (in a sturdy cardboard box) the entire fly rod and sock, no matter which piece is broken (including any broken sections) to assure a proper fit of the new blank. Also enclosed should be a completed warranty form and a cheque or money order for the $60 CAD handling charge that applies to all warranty claims. Our address is:

Pieroway Rod Company
Attention: Warranty Dept.
#505, 777 – 3rd Avenue SW
Calgary, Alberta

You are responsible for the cost of shipping the rod to us for repair or replacement and we recommend that you insure the package for its retail value.

Once your rod is received, it is inspected and we will contact you to acknowledge receipt of your fly rod. At which time we will inform you of the estimated time it will take to return your fly rod (good as new), which is usually three to four weeks. Given the nature of spinning graphite blanks and the different color hues from different production runs, the repair materials may vary slightly from those used on the original fly rod.

I live outside Canada. How much is return shipping and handling?

Warranty claims received from outside Canada will be charged the $60 handling charge in U.S. currency. No additional shipping charges are associated with our clients outside Canada at this time.

I built my rod from a Pieroway Blank. Is it covered by the lifetime warranty?

Yes. The same lifetime warranty outlined above applies to Pieroway Rod Blanks. Return the entire custom-made fly rod to us and we’ll return the rod with the new blank section. When returning a blank for repair, please remove any hardware from the broken blank sections that you wish to keep or reuse before sending.

Care Of Your Pieroway Fly Rods and Reels

We recommend that sensible routine maintenance be carried out on a regular basis before and immediately after use. Reels should be thoroughly rinsed with clean water, lubricated and dried before storage. Rod sections should be firmly engaged before fishing. While we see no need to tape the joints, we do suggest waxing your ferrules with some paraffin wax to ensure a tight seal and easy separation after your day on the water.

WARNING

Carbon graphite rods can conduct electricity and if close or direct contact is made with an overhead power line, the angler could receive a severe shock which could prove fatal. Anglers using graphite rods should keep well clear of overhead power lines and avoid fishing during lightening storms. In no event does Pieroway Rod Company accept or assume any responsibility or liability for incidental or consequential damages related to or arising from ownership or use of our fly rods or blanks.

Pieroway Rod Company clothing, hats, bags and accessories are covered against defects in workmanship and materials for a period of 30 days from the date of purchase. Sales receipt or proof of purchase is required.
